‘Breaking Bias’ is a campaign set to address and correct the lack of diversity and presence of racism in stock and AI imagery. This bias is especially common in extreme sports, like surfing. AI often reinforces harmful stereotypes, like “Black people don’t surf” or “Black people can’t swim”. This must change. As a photographer and videographer on this project, I had the privilege of capturing other Black surfers in Huntington Beach, CA for the campaign. This is a step toward proper representation in media for all people of color who love surfing and other extreme sports.

I am a passionate digital media producer and multimedia journalist. I am based in Long Beach, CA, and work internationally with various brands and organizations, such as Zwift Inc., Wahoo, INNOCEAN, HeyHarper, Pedal Mafia, Kavata Swimwear, Le Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift, Alpecin-Premier Tech Pro Cycling Team, Black Surfers Collective, and more.
With a keen eye for detail and a deep love for the outdoors, the goal of my work is to reflect the beauty and raw power of nature, the fun ways in which we interact with it, and the reflections of culture that have grown from it. The intersection between people, their crafts, and their identity is where I thrive and find passion for my work. Through my lens, I want to tell captivating stories of all that comes with an active lifestyle and the people who are drawn to it, creating visual narratives that resonate with viewers.
My commitment to my craft is evident in every frame, as I aim to combine creativity and technical expertise to produce engaging visual content.
